FIRST NATIONS GOVERNANCE ROUNDTABLE Listening. Learning. Building Together. A collaborative forum for First Nations police governance leaders, members and administrators across Ontario. Every conversation matters. Police Governance Ontario recognizes that the strongest governance resources are built with First Nations communities—not for them. The First Nations Governance Roundtable was created as a place to listen, learn and build relationships while strengthening police governance together. This is a space to: • Share governance experiences • Discuss emerging opportunities and challenges • Learn from one another • Build connections across First Nations police governance bodies • Help shape future PGO resources, learning opportunities and advocacy Every conversation helps inform the future governance supports developed by Police Governance Ontario. Who Should Attend? This Roundtable is open to all First Nations police governance bodies in Ontario, regardless of governance model. Whether your community: • Governs under the Community Safety and Policing Act • Oversees a self-administered First Nation police service • Is developing or strengthening its governance practices • Is exploring future governance opportunities You are welcome. Our Commitment These sessions are built around listening first. Rather than arriving with predetermined answers, PGO is committed to learning from the experiences, perspectives and leadership of First Nations police governance communities. Together, we will identify priorities, explore governance challenges, and develop practical resources that reflect the realities of First Nations police governance across Ontario.
